Self-Care Journal for Teens

When I was a teenager, I had no idea what self-care was. As a teen, I suffered from severe anxiety and most of it was due to the fact that I had no self-care routine. Now that I have developed a self-care routine – journaling, daily exercise, and meditation, my anxiety has decreased so much.

Self-care might seem like a trend, but it is much more than that. Yes, it has increased in popularity recently, but the core of self-care is about doing things for yourself that will make you a healthier, happier, and more balanced person.

As I mentioned previously, for anxiety, self-care helps tremendously. It is going to help reduce your stress, which ultimately helps with anxiety as well. You also learn tips and tricks for managing your anxiety based on how you adjust your daily self-care routine, whether that means reducing anxiety triggers or finding healthy distractions when you experienced heightened anxiety or panic.

To develop a healthy self-care routine, teens should:

Switch to a healthy breakfast – Taking good care of your body will also help teens to take care of ttheir mind. Everything is connected, so start your day right with a healthy and nutritious breakfast.

Write in their journal daily – Writing in a journal provides a long list of benefits when teens have anxiety. Teens can write out any thoughts or fears they have, and actually get to the core of why they feel this way.

Use a daily planner – Planners allow teens to reduce some stress and anxiety over the fear of missing out, or feeling like they are always forgetting to do something. Many teens with anxiety find that structure is beneficial.

Now that I have more structure in my life, I find that it is beneficial for my anxiety as well.

If you are a teen reading this post and you don’t know where to start as far as developing a self-care routine, you can pick up my Self-care for teens journal.

I shared this exact journal with a friend, who works as a guidance counselor at a local high school. She loved the journal and I had hopes of getting my journal into the high school that she counsels at to help teens develop a self-care routine.

Unfortunately, that idea didn’t pan out as the Superintendent at the high school retired. Was this news somewhat upsetting to me?

Yes, because now I have to find other ways to get my journals into the hands of teens that desperately need a self-care routine.

I will not give up, which is why I am writing this blog post. Again, if you are a teen or know a teen that needs to begin practicing self-care, grab the Self-care for teens journal.

Love you for reading.
